Upcoming Parking Meter Rate Changes

In response to the changes in parking patterns, parking rates within LA Express Park are being reduced in many areas. Parking meters remain enforced to reduce congestion and improve parking availability for local businesses. Restaurants offering takeout and delivery can still apply for a Temporary Food Pick-Up Zone or Temporary Retail Pick-Up Zone here at no charge.

The average rates in Westwood decreased by $0.42. The average rates in Hollywood decreased by $0.47. The average rates in Downtown LA decreased by $0.44.
Please note that all rates are specific to each meter. Be sure to check your parking meter for the specific rate of your parking session. The new rates, effective June 29th, are shown in the diagrams below.

Many parking meters in these areas utilize different hourly rates matching the parking demand during separate time intervals. All parking meter and pay station screens will display the applicable rate and the maximum session time allowed depending on the time-of-day. Please follow posted signage for current time limits and parking restrictions. Meters and pay stations will be equipped to calculate the applicable rates for you if your parking period spans different rate periods.

Pay by App Parking

If you need to park, but would like to avoid touching the meter, look out for stickers such as this one showing which app can be used to pay for your parking session. Only meters with a Parkmobile or Parksmarter sticker can accept payment at this time.

Parking During COVID-19

First and foremost, please stay safe and healthy by staying home.
However, if you would like to support your favorite local businesses that are offering delivery and takeout, we are adjusting parking policies for the current situation.

Temporary Pick-up Zones

LADOT is now offering temporary signs for on-street parking spaces to become “Food Pick-up Zones” and “Retail Pick-Up Zones”. These designated spaces will function as 10-minute free parking to help businesses and customers expedite takeout and delivery orders.

Businesses can request 1-2 street parking spaces by using this form.
Requests are subject to approval by LADOT.
Eligible requests are granted on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Payment is not required at parking meters with these signs.

You can also see where these Temporary Pick-Up Signs are located using this map

As we work to get these changes in place, please practice social distancing and wear protective equipment if you are going outside.

Parking Enforcement

Please remember that parking meters and posted time limits are still subject to enforcement to help businesses and customers minimize wait times.
These changes are in effect throughout October 15th and are subject to extension.
